Italy is going through a deep crisis, essentially due to a real lack of willigness of changing things, adapting the country to an interconnected world.
And yet, things to be done are extremely clear. Essentially, we should need to be attractive to other countries, so that people will find easy and favourable to put money in Italy. Here we're totally missing the target. We're attracting like an old witch. Major causes are essentially two:

1)If someone wants to start an activity, there are a lot of legal constraints which scare people away.
2)Justice: if anyone has a litigation, he wants to solve it quickly and correctly. In Italy, litigations, trials etc... can drag on for years.

These issues are very well known -for decades- and also somehow mutually correlated. But it seems that nobody has the strength of carrying on such a transformation. Maybe politicians are too focused on getting votes and consensus, than working for our good. It comes to my mind that Clarke's quote "A politician thinks of the next election. A statesman, of the next generation."

And we have too many politicians in Italy. That's not a justification: something's wrong with us.
